Weight loss drugs (GLP 1 Agonists, Mounjaro, Ozempic etc)

We understand there has been significant media coverage regarding these drugs and their availability. We want to clarify that these medications are not currently available on demand. Our practice is awaiting the launch of an Integrated Care Board (ICB) Weight Management and Complex Obesity Service (WMCOS), which will provide comprehensive support for eligible patients. Until this service is operational, we encourage patients to continue focusing on healthy lifestyle choices and consult with us for personalised advice.

Appointments

Contact us with Accurx

You can contact a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional online using a website called Accurx.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

  • use the Accurx service
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or SystmOnline to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Enhanced access

If you would like an evening or Saturday appointment, please request this when you contact your practice. Details of your appointment, including the location of your appointment (if booked during enhanced access hours) will be given by reception at the time of booking.

As part of this service, appointments will be available between:

  • 6:30pm and 8pm, Monday to Friday
  • 9am and 5pm, Saturdays

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

The surgery has an out of hours service and you will not have a choice about the doctor you see. If you need urgent attention, you should phone 01206 752010, and follow the instructions.

In the interests of patients, the out of hours service record incoming phone calls. These recordings are strictly confidential and are dealt with in exactly the same way as patients’ medical records.

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

These can be arranged for those patients too ill to attend the surgery. Please use this service thoughtfully, and call on 01206 752010, before 10am in the morning to request a visit. The receptionist may ask for further information to enable the doctor to determine the priority and nature of the visit.
